Thinking about whether I can use drawing more explicitly in this work, I decided to draw into the paper before moulding it around the object. First tests with pencil were too delicate and the drawing was very difficult to see once the paper had been dampened and moulded. However a permanent fine marker worked beautifully. I used abstraction, choosing marks that responded to the textures inherent in the object. They are three dimensional drawings; I haven't used the tampo pads to print with but simply to contour the damp paper. I may combine drawing with printing in future tests...
